Vinted CZ

What is Vinted?

Vinted is an online marketplace and community platform where users can buy, sell, exchange and donate second-hand clothing, footwear, accessories and cosmetics. Vinted.cz is the Czech version of the platform, which was originally founded in Lithuania (Vinted.lt) in 2008. The Czech site has over one million registered users.

How does Vinted work?

1. A user creates a free listing by photographing the item, writing a description and setting a price.

2. Buyers can browse listings, which are filtered by category, brand, size or price.

3. Interested buyers message sellers via the built-in chat feature to confirm details.

4. After payment, the seller ships the item and the buyer can leave a rating.

What is Vinted's business model? Vinted does not buy, sell or hold inventory itself. Instead, it operates as an intermediary hosting platform for individual users (and, in some markets, 'Pro Sellers'), primarily earning revenue through mandatory Buyer Protection fees rather than seller commissions on standard listings.

Key features:

Buyer Protection — a mandatory, fee-based safeguard that is automatically applied when a buyer clicks the "Buy Now" button. This ensures that the item is received as described before the funds are released to the seller.

Vinted Wallet — a secure digital wallet that stores earnings from sold items. Sellers must activate it to sell items (though not to buy), and funds can be withdrawn to a bank account or used automatically towards future Vinted purchases.

In-app messaging and ratings — supports direct communication between buyers and sellers, as well as post-transaction reviews.

Safety guidance: Vinted advises users never to pay outside its official payment system and never to share personal financial information with other users. These protections are partly enforced through delayed fund transfers to sellers until delivery is confirmed.
