Obi CZ
OBI is a leading German home-improvement/DIY chain, operating in the Czech Republic as part of the international OBI Group. The first OBI store opened in Hamburg-Poppenbüttel, Germany in 1970, founded by Emil Lux, Manfred Maus and Klaus Birker. Today, OBI operates over 650 stores across ten European countries, employing around 35,000 people.
OBI entered the Czech market in 1995, opening its first store in Prague-Štěrboholy, and marked its 30^(th) anniversary in the country in 2025. OBI Czech Republic currently operates more than 30 stores nationwide and offers both in-store and online shopping via obi.cz, with an e-shop catalogue of over 120,000 products.
Product range: paints and coatings, building materials, lighting and electrical products, kitchens, garden and outdoor living products, plants, pool technology and tools — covering everything from small home repairs to full renovations and garden projects.
